Top journalists of our country are actually slogging themselves in search of such absurd news which is absolutely bogus. I really don’t get it……. What are the readers going to do if Rakhi Sawant is searching for a husband? Go and find a compatible guy for her or sumone would go and actually marry her? Rani Mukherjee purchases real estate in Shirdi….. Now what difference this news makes in our life? It’s her money, her wish and her choice of location, so why the hell, we are informed about it??? No one wants to perceive what these stupid celebs are doing in there personal lives but they write what sells and here the blame goes on towards the public who jump on to page 3 as soon as they get the newspapers in their hand.
So this one is for all those people who think that page 3 is the ultimate news….. There is much more influential news which would mature your thinking and help the country in return. I am really proud of the reporters who did the coverage on Mumbai terror attacks and risked their own life to keep you informed.
P.S: I HOPE MY READERS ARE NOT PAGE3 LOVERS………

ReplyDeleteI am not a page 3 fan. I hardly get to read a news paper and I certainly agree with you that its utter waste to be reading some thing like page 3. But, I don't blame the journalists writing for the page 3. Firstly I think people writing for the page three can hardly be called talented journalists. and secondly if there is a niche available it will always be filled (great Darwin). So even if the current talented page three writers move to serious journalism there will be more talented journalists who will write for this page. Then I gave a little more thought to why do we need page 3? So i just observed some of my friends who love page 3 and the answer way simple. Every person loves attention and very few of us, the 1 billion, get attention. So a lot of people are drawn to reading abut these famous people and compare their personal life with the lives of the stars they admire and this is where they find solace that even star are a little similar to themselves. Reading page 3 is like watching TV (especially advertisements) or movies; its all entertainment...
